Overview

Your ZTE H298N Hyperhub router is usually set up by our engineer during installation. If you need to set it up yourself, follow these steps to connect the router, switch it on and get your devices online.

Before you start

Inside your Hyperoptic box, you should have:

• Hyperhub router

• Power adaptor

• Ethernet network cable

You’ll also need access to your Hyperoptic wall socket or fibre converter.

Set up your router

1. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the WAN port on the router.

2. Connect the other end to the Hyperoptic wall socket. If your home uses a fibre converter, connect it to the LAN or LAN1 port on the converter.

3. Connect the supplied power adaptor to the router and plug it into the mains.

4. Switch on the wall socket, then press the router’s power or on/off button.

5. Wait a few minutes for the router to start up.

Setup is complete when the Power, Internet, WAN and WLAN lights are green.

Connect your devices

Wi-Fi: Choose the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) shown on the router label and enter the printed password. Some older routers show separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks; try 5 GHz nearby for faster speeds and 2.4 GHz for greater range.

Ethernet: For the best possible connection, plug your device into any LAN port using an Ethernet cable.

Phone service: Connect a compatible handset to the Phone, Phone 1 or TEL port using an RJ11 cable. Some BT-branded handsets may not be compatible.

You’re ready to go

Once the expected lights are green, your Hyperoptic broadband is ready to use.

Still not connected? If the WAN and Internet lights are not on after 20 minutes, check the cables and restart the router.
