The 93rd Academy Awards are being aired in the UK on Sunday 25th April 10pm (GMT) on Sky Cinema. Whether you are watching for the glamorous outfits, seeing your favourite film get recognised, or even for the stars themselves, this year promises to be a good one – even despite the pandemic. How to watch the Oscars in the UK

Fancy a late night of glitz and glamour? Save Sunday 25th April in your diary.

The entire ceremony will be on Sky Cinema, beginning with the red carpet 10pm (GMT). The actual ceremony won’t begin until 1am (GMT) where all the winners will be announced. If you’re not a Sky customer, you can stream the entire ceremony on NOW TV.

The Oscar Nominations

2020 saw Joaquin Phoenix win Best Actor for his performance in Joker, and Renee Zellweger win Best Actress for her performance in Judy. Last year also saw the Best Picture go to the first non-English-language film, Parasite.

This year sees history being made again with the first nomination for a Muslim in the Best Actor category (Riz Ahmed), and for the first time in the awards’ history, two females have been nominated in the directing category. There is also a nomination for the late Chadwick Boseman who recently won a Best Actor Golden Globe.
